Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is an effective, non-surgical way to get rid of acne scars, fine wrinkles and sunspots by exfoliating the top layers of the skin. No chemicals or laser beams are used.

Why microdermabrasion?

As we age, the skin renewal cycle slows down. As a result, dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots and loss of elasticity may all be noticed. In other to improve these skin problems or minimise their appearance, the skin renewal cycle must be stimulated. This treatment does not thin your skin but rather stimulate regeneration by increasing its elasticity and collagen production. The skin looks fresh and feels smooth as soon as treatment is over. With micro abrasion, there is no recovery time and no discomfort.

Does it hurt?

No, this treatment is painless. It feels like the mild facial massage from a special wand. The strength of the equipment is fully adjustable to suit every individual. There may be slight redness after treatment {depending on skin type} which disappears within the hour.

What can microdermabrasion do for me?

Microdermabrasion can reduce fine lines and wrinkles; it helps fight acne and remove acne scarring, evens skin tone, eliminates white and black heads, minimizes large pores and revitalizes dull skin.

When do I see visible results?

Some patients reported changes after the first treatment. Your skin will look cleaner and healthier after a few sessions, but major changes like reduction of wrinkles become visible after five treatments.

6 to 10 treatments, scheduled around two weeks apart is suggested. After the recommended number of sessions, it is advisable to have maintenance treatments once every 3 months to prolong effects if desired.

When can I return to work?

You can return to work the minute you leave the clinic. If your skin looks reddish, like after mild sunburn, you can cover it up with some light make-up.

What aftercare do I need?

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and UV radiation and apply an effective SPF30.
