RED VEIN REMOVAL

You don't have to live with unsightly facial and leg veins any more. Thanks to new laser technology, unattractive red, blue or purple veins can be eliminated quickly and safely leaving an overall clearer and more attractive skin appearance. The procedure is suitable for veins that are superficial and up to 4mm in diameter.

What is it and how does it work?
A laser beam is passed through the surface of the skin to reach the blood vessels causing the vessel walls to collapse and later dissolve within the body.

Does it hurt?
There may be a slight burning sensation but this is kept to a minimum by preparing the skin prior to treatment with topical anaesthetic creams.

Are there any side effects?
Immediately following the treatment, veins may alter to appear a light red colour which will fade within a couple of hours. Larger veins will turn greyish and flatten.
Redness develops within a few minutes and a so-called 'cat scratch' appearance may appear. This may last for a few days and the cat scratch areas may scab over. Larger veins will take a few weeks to fade.

How long does the treatment take?
Depending on the area(s) to be treated, each session may take up to an hour.

How long will the effects of the treatment last?
The number of treatments required will vary depending on the severity of the veins but usually one to three sessions are all that is required over 4 to 6 week intervals. You will be advised on the potential outcome at your initial consultation.

What aftercare will I need?
The area(s) treated must not be exposed to sun or any heat treatments for at least two days after treatment. It is recommended to have maintenance ‘top-up’ treatments every 3-6 months after completion of your course of treatments.
