SHAVING BUMPS
Many men suffer from in-growing hairs in their shaving area, particularly those with dark skin. These in-growing hairs are also known as pseudofolliculitis barbae.Why does this happen?
Depending upon genetics, ethnicity and hormones men may have heavy beard growth which is more challenging to shave. An in grown hair is trigged when hair is cut and;
• Forced back in the follicle
• Doubles over itself and re-enters the same follicle to grow inward. This condition can be a painful to the sufferer during their regular shaving routine. Now there's a solution with the new revolutionary technique offered at J’Nissi Skin Repair.
What happens during treatment?
A laser beam is passed through the skin to reach the hair follicles. The heat energy destroys these follicles eliminating growth and dissolving the hair under the skin.
Does it hurt?
There may be a slight burning sensation but this is kept to a minimum by preparing the skin prior to treatment with topical anaesthetic creams or cold compress.
Are there any side effects?
There may be some reddening around the hair shaft immediately following the laser application. On occasion this reaction is absent or minimal.
How long is a session?
Depending on the area(s) to be treated, each session may take up to an hour.
How long will the effects of the treatment last?
Multiple treatments will be required at 4 to 6 week intervals as hair grows in cycles. The overall outcome will depend on the initial severity of the shaving bumps but you will be advised on the potential outcome at your initial consultation.
What aftercare do I need?
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and UV radiation and apply an effective SPF30.
